It started with one dog called Molly.

Homeward Hound started around five years ago, after one of the team adopted a Romanian rescue dog called Molly.

From there, the team became passionate about helping save dogs from Romania and North Macedonia — including dogs rescued from Romanian public shelters — and helping cats too.

We're a small non-profit organisation, supported by rescuers and admin volunteers who give their time to helping the animals. We're not a registered charity.

Today we rehome animals across England, Scotland and Wales, with two UK transports each month.
