Cookie Policy

The short version

Our public website does not set cookies. It only uses one small, strictly necessary browser setting (explained below), and we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. That is why you won't see a cookie banner here.

Public pages

Browsing our animals, reading about us, or using the support and contact pages does not store cookies or tracking information in your browser. The only thing stored is a scroll-position note in your browser's session storage, so the page returns to where you were when you go back; it is deleted when you close the tab and is never sent to us. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts; Google may receive technical information such as your IP address when the fonts are fetched.

Volunteer admin area

Only authorised volunteers use the admin area. When they sign in, strictly necessary storage is used:

  • Sign-in session (browser local storage) — keeps the volunteer signed in until they sign out.
  • Social post drafts (browser session storage) — keeps an edited caption while the volunteer works; cleared when the browser tab closes.

These are needed for the admin tools to work and are not used for tracking.

External websites

When you follow a link to Google Forms (adoption/fostering applications), PayPal, GoCardless, Amazon, Facebook/Messenger or WhatsApp, those services may set their own cookies under their own cookie and privacy policies.
